Team Idea
AlphaPilot is an AI-powered options trading agent designed to analyze market and historical options data, identify suitable trading opportunities, and evaluate them through realistic backtesting before risking real capital. The current system focuses on Bull Call Spreads on SPY, where it retrieves historical option prices through Alpaca, analyzes available contracts, generates and ranks spreads based on factors such as risk, reward, debit, and spread width, and selects potential trades according to predefined risk-management rules. It also calculates position size, entry and exit values, profit or loss, win rate, profit factor, and maximum drawdown while maintaining portfolio capital throughout the backtest. The long-term goal is to evolve AlphaPilot from a historical backtesting system into an intelligent, risk-aware trading agent capable of market analysis, strategy selection, paper trading, and eventually live trading.
