CodeArchaeologist — A Multi-Agent System That Reverse-Engineers Legacy Code Into Living Documentation Legacy codebases are black boxes: undocumented, fragile, and terrifying to touch. CodeArchaeologist deploys a team of cooperating AI agents on AMD GPUs to excavate them. A Scraper Agent pulls source, commit history, and issue tickets; a RAG Agent grounds every claim in your actual proprietary code so explanations never hallucinate; an OCR Agent reads scanned design docs, whiteboard photos, and architecture diagrams; and a Synthesis Agent writes plain-English module summaries, call-graph maps, and onboarding guides. Ask it "where is the payment logic?" and it answers with file paths, line numbers, and citations. Built with MCP tool-calling and served via AMD Developer Cloud, it turns a 10-year-old mystery repo into searchable, trustworthy knowledge — cutting onboarding from weeks to hours.
