hal0 is an open-source, self-hosted AI platform built for AMD Strix Halo. Install it on a box at home and you get one OpenAI-compatible API, with Open WebUI, Hindsight memory and a Hermes agent already wired up. I think the future of AI is small, specialized models running next to your data, not one giant model in someone else’s data center. hal0 makes that manageable with slots. Point your app or agent at a slot like chat or code, then swap the model behind it from the dashboard and see the change on the next request. Profiles save whole setups, preset or custom. Your prompts, files and memory stay on your network. Beginners can install it and start chatting. Power users get custom runners, MCP servers for memory, admin and an agent bridge, and new models usually supported the day they drop. Built by one passionate developer who ships fast and listens.
