"WebScout AI team on AMD AI League Hackathon"
Team Idea
WebScout AI is a solo build for AMD AI League Match 4: an agent that turns a plain-English request into a completed web research task. Given a prompt like "find this product's return policy and shipping cost," the agent plans a navigation strategy, opens pages, follows links, uses on-site search, and extracts the exact answer instead of dumping raw page text. A planner model breaks the request into sub-goals, a headless-browser module executes each step, and a verifier checks the result against the original question before responding. Every answer ships with the source URL and the supporting snippet, so results are traceable. Inference runs on AMD Instinct GPUs via ROCm and PyTorch using an open-weight LLM. The agent handles multi-page tasks, retries on dead ends, and clearly reports when information can't be found rather than hallucinating.
