We're building an AI-powered assistant that helps developers understand and work with unfamiliar codebases faster, using IBM Bob 2.0's full repository context. Instead of just generating code snippets, our tool lets users explore a repo, get plain-language explanations of how the code works, trace bugs back to their root cause, and break down new features into clear, actionable steps — all grounded in the actual structure of the project, not guesswork. Our goal is to reduce the time developers spend "getting oriented" in a new codebase, whether they're joining a team project, contributing to open source, or picking up an internship task. By combining Bob 2.0's repository-aware reasoning with a simple, intuitive interface, we aim to make onboarding to any codebase faster, clearer, and less intimidating — especially for students and early-career developers.
