Team Idea
Kessler Copilot is an AI-powered space-debris collision-avoidance advisor that transforms raw orbital tracking data into actionable mission-safety insights. It continuously ingests live TLE data for ~25,000 tracked objects, propagates orbits using the industry-standard SGP4 model, and detects future conjunctions threatening satellites or the ISS. Each event receives a quantitative collision-risk score based on miss distance and approach geometry. An agentic LLM layer powered by IBM Granite converts complex orbital mechanics into plain-language risk briefings, recommended avoidance maneuvers, and interactive Q&A. Real-time 3D visualization lets operators, students, and the public understand conjunctions and maneuver decisions. Built end-to-end with IBM Bob, Kessler Copilot makes space situational awareness more accessible, intuitive, and actionable.
