PatchPilot AI
Software issues rarely exist in isolation. An issue may require understanding a large repository, identifying the affected code, planning a remediation, preparing regression tests, reviewing security implications, validating the proposed change, and finally determining whether it is ready for human review. These activities are often fragmented across GitHub, development environments, testing tools, and release processes. PatchPilot AI brings this workflow together into one engineering platform. A developer connects a GitHub repository through OAuth and can work with its real repository information and issues directly inside PatchPilot. The platform provides repository-wide issue and pull-request information, server-side issue pagination, and an issue-focused engineering workflow. For each issue, PatchPilot organizes the engineering process into six specialized stages: Orchestrator, Repository Intelligence, Patch Synthesis, Regression Test Synthesis, Security Audit, and Release. These stages work together to structure issue classification, repository context, remediation planning, regression testing, security review, and release-readiness assessment. A key part of the platform is isolated validation. Proposed patches and regression tests can be validated inside a restricted Docker sandbox rather than being executed directly on the API server. The validation environment uses an ephemeral workspace, restricted resources, disabled network access, dropped Linux capabilities, and no unrestricted host filesystem access. Validation results are then incorporated into the release-readiness decision. PatchPilot is designed for software developers, engineering teams, maintainers, and security-conscious development workflows. Users interact with the platform through a web dashboard, connect their GitHub repositories, select issues, review the engineering workflow and results, inspect validation status, and make the final release decision. What makes PatchPilot distinctive is the way it connects repository-aware issue handling, testing, security review, isolated validation, and release readiness into a single workflow while preserving human control. Automated checks can block an unsafe or unvalidated release, but successful checks do not automatically commit, push, merge, deploy, or release code. The project is built as a modern web platform with a Next.js frontend, FastAPI backend, PostgreSQL persistence, Redis infrastructure, GitHub integration, and isolated Docker-based validation.
