Code Scribe
• Code-Scribe is an AI-powered documentation platform designed to solve a common but costly problem: software projects often become hard to understand, hard to maintain, and poorly documented as they grow. Teams spend valuable time manually writing user guides, developer references, and onboarding materials, yet these documents quickly become outdated whenever the codebase changes. In addition, some companies remain tied to the same consulting partner because poor software documentation makes switching providers riskier, even when a change would make better business sense or help reduce operational costs. • Code-Scribe addresses this challenge by automatically cloning a GitHub repository, analyzing its structure, identifying its technology stack, and generating two polished PDF deliverables: an End User Guide and a Developer / Code Guide. The End User Guide explains the application from a functional perspective, including installation and usage instructions for non-technical users. The Developer / Code Guide provides a deeper technical reference, covering architecture, modules, and contribution guidelines for engineers who need to extend or maintain the system. • The solution is built for software teams, developers, technical writers, and maintainers who want accurate documentation without the manual overhead. Users interact with Code-Scribe through a web-based interface powered by a FastAPI backend, where they can monitor progress in real time via WebSocket log streaming. A live chat widget can also be injected into target web applications, allowing end users to get contextual support directly inside the product. • What makes Code-Scribe creative and unique is that it does more than generate static documentation once. It continuously monitors repositories for changes and automatically keeps documentation synchronized with the codebase. It also uses APScheduler for background polling, SQLite to resume from the last completed checkpoint after interruptions, and WeasyPrint to produce clean, professional PDF output. Its Groq LLM integration, structured logging, and reusable knowledge store create a feedback-driven documentation pipeline that improves over time. Any uncertain content is explicitly marked as [UNVERIFIED], making the output more transparent and trustworthy. • By combining repository analysis, automated documentation generation, in-app support, and continuous synchronization, Code-Scribe offers a new way to maintain software knowledge at scale. It reduces documentation drift, improves onboarding, and gives both users and developers a clearer understanding of the application—all with minimal manual effort.
