TraceFix — Autonomous AI Code Debugger Studio
Modern software engineering teams lose countless developer hours every sprint resolving recurring runtime crashes, including unhandled ZeroDivisionError, dictionary KeyError, and out-of-bounds IndexError exceptions. While modern developers increasingly consult general-purpose large language models to diagnose these issues, typical generative AI assistants routinely deliver full-file code rewrites. These non-deterministic rewrites often hallucinate syntactical patterns, alter untouched application architecture, and inject silent logic regressions into upstream codebases. TraceFix is an autonomous, full-lifecycle debugging and program repair studio designed to eliminate developer toil without compromising codebase stability. Rather than approaching automated repair as unconstrained generative text synthesis, TraceFix pairs context-aware static analysis with deterministic guard synthesis and an in-memory regression testing harness. The studio executes a streamlined four-stage autonomous workflow. First, the parsing engine ingests broken source files or runtime pytest failure logs, isolating failing AST nodes without scanning or corrupting adjacent business logic. Next, the patch synthesizer injects minimal, defensive guard clauses directly upstream of the failing AST instruction. Third, TraceFix initializes an in-memory pytest harness to execute dynamic test assertions against both edge cases and existing baseline execution flows, guaranteeing zero functional regression before any code is approved. Finally, the interactive developer studio surfaces a Git-native unified diff alongside root-cause diagnostic breakdowns, automated confidence scoring, and interactive contextual explanations powered by IBM Bob 2.0. TraceFix transforms reactive triage into verified, hallucination-free code repair in milliseconds.
