Value Proposition: QuoteCraft is an autonomous BOQ and vendor quote comparison system that eliminates repetitive procurement work. It accelerates approvals, reduces manual errors, and simplifies engineering to procurement workflows. User Workflow: Users upload a BOQ spreadsheet, then add one or more vendor quote files. QuoteCraft parses and normalizes the data, automatically matches vendor items to BOQ lines, displays vendor-to-vendor comparisons, and lets the user select a preferred vendor per item. The system then exports an updated BOQ and a comparison summary, ready for client approval or ERP entry. Architecture Overview: The frontend is built with React, TypeScript, Vite, Tailwind, and Fuse.js for fuzzy matching. The backend is built with Node.js, TypeScript, Express, and a service architecture for document parsing, vendor scoring, policy checking, and watsonx Orchestrate workflow hooks. The design anticipates integrations with OCR extraction, approval routing, and ERP systems. Feature Set: BOQ and vendor quote file upload Automatic line-item matching Vendor comparison table KPI dashboard and coverage metrics Export of updated BOQ with chosen vendors Backend policy engine and orchestration support Team: Developed by a cross-functional team blending engineering domain knowledge with software development, AI-driven automation, and workflow design. Led by an electrical design engineer to ensure real-world industry alignment. Future Roadmap: Planned enhancements include LLM-powered matching, PDF/OCR ingestion, multi-level approval routing through watsonx Orchestrate, ERP Purchase Requisition/Purchase Order automation, and vendor performance analytics. The long-term vision is an end-to-end intelligent procurement platform.
