BABIL is a human-in-the-loop AI options trading agent designed around one principle: AI may propose, but it must never have unrestricted execution authority. BABIL separates intelligence from execution through deterministic risk gates, explicit human approval, fail-closed behavior, and an emergency kill switch. The AI analyzes market conditions and proposes an options trade, but the proposed price, strike, quantity, premium, and order parameters are validated by the fortress before execution. A human remains the final authorization layer. Built around Alpaca’s trading infrastructure, BABIL demonstrates a safer architecture for AI-powered financial automation: intelligence can be autonomous, while execution remains governed, auditable, and bounded by deterministic controls.
