BobMigrate: Autonomous Monolith Decomposer
The Problem: Over 70% of enterprise backends are trapped in tightly coupled legacy monoliths where core domains such as Authentication, Catalog, Orders, and Notifications are intertwined through entangled database foreign-key constraints and synchronous blocking calls. Manual modernization is a multi-million-dollar bottleneck requiring months of tedious code auditing with high data regression risks. Conversely, feeding large legacy repositories into generic LLMs quickly exhausts context windows, drains token budgets, and triggers hallucinated syntax errors. The Solution: BobMigrate BobMigrate is an autonomous, agentic modernization platform designed for enterprise software architects and lead backend engineers. It automates the end-to-end extraction of monolithic applications into standalone, production-grade microservices in under 30 seconds. How Users Interact With It: 1. Architectural Audit: Users launch the BobMigrate Dashboard (localhost:3000) to inspect an interactive topology graph. An AST scanner audits the codebase (port 4000), pinpointing entangled tables and flagging high-risk coupling hotspots (e.g., Orders directly executing cross-table SQL joins and mutating inventory). 2. Context Pruning: Instead of dumping entire codebases into the LLM, BobMigrate's AST Context Pruner isolates target interface signatures, reducing token noise by 85.2% to 96% and solving the strict 40 Bobcoins hackathon budget constraint. 3. Multi-Step Agentic Synthesis: With one click, IBM Bob 2.0 Agent Mode orchestrates a 3-step pipeline: isolating domain boundaries, generating OpenAPI 3.1 YAML specifications, and authoring isolated microservice code (port 5001) with write-time snapshot schemas, resilient HTTP catalog clients, and non-blocking event emitters. 4. Live Contract Verification & Export: Users test synthesized endpoints inside an interactive OpenAPI sandbox featuring live JWT authentication, real-time database transactions, and sub-100ms latency metrics. Architects can then export the entire containerized repository with Docker Compose and automated Jest unit tests with a single click. Uniqueness & Impact: BobMigrate shifts AI from a passive line-by-line autocomplete tool into an autonomous enterprise software architect, shrinking weeks of risky refactoring into seconds while proving that complex agentic workflows can run cost-effectively.
