Enterprise software is bogged down by legacy Java codebases. Manual migration costs upwards of eight hours per 1,000 lines of code—with 60 to 80 percent of that effort spent on security reviews, architecture, and testing rather than writing new code. Existing AI coding assistants migrate blindly. They translate Java to Python or TypeScript without consulting project documentation, producing syntactically correct code that ignores undocumented business rules. The Solution: LegacyLift Built using IBM Bob 2.0, LegacyLift is a document-aware, multi-agent modernization pipeline. It treats project documentation as non-negotiable migration constraints through a strict five-stage process: Stage 0: Project Understanding. Analyzes Java source files via AST, maps inter-class dependencies, detects circular coupling, and ranks files by cyclomatic complexity to dictate the migration order. Stage 0.5: Document Ingestion (The Core Innovation). Reads the pom.xml (flagging CVEs like Log4Shell), Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), and Javadocs to extract strict rules (e.g., GDPR data minimization, API contracts, forbidden magic numbers) before any code is generated. Stage 1: Parallel Analysis. Spawns specialized Architecture, Security, and Testing subagents. A Convergence Gate evaluates all findings and halts the pipeline if critical blockers or P0 vulnerabilities are found. Stage 2: Execution. Generates equivalent Python code with all ADR constraints enforced. Automatically runs generated pytest suites and pylint static analysis, self-correcting upon failure. Stage 3: Delivery & CI/CD. Produces comprehensive Modernization and Impact Reports, detailing benchmarked productivity gains. Outputs a complete, production-ready CI/CD stack including Dockerfiles, docker-compose.yml, and GitHub Actions workflows with integrated Trivy security scans.

🌎 Hybrid Hackathon | 💻 Online Build: 12-17 October 2026 | On-site phase: 17-18 October 2026 To participate in the hackathon, simply click Sign up with AMD. If you are not already a member of the AMD AI Developer Program (ADP), you will need to create an account. The AMD Developer Hackathon: ACT III is a hands-on event for developers, founders, engineers and builders who want to push what’s possible with AI on real infrastructure. 📍 If approved for the on-site experience, you'll also have the opportunity to showcase your project live. Travel and accommodation will not be covered.

🌎 Online Hackathon | 💻 Online Build: Sept 26 - Oct 5, 2026 A virtual, global hackathon. Build from anywhere in the world. Dark Factory is the official hackathon of WeAreDevelopers World Congress North America, presented by BAND, but you don't need to be in San Jose to take part. For one week, you build a software factory in BAND Desktop: a band of coding agents that plans work, implements it and checks its own results. 🎟️ Bonus for sign-ups: you are eligible for a free ticket to WeAreDevelopers World Congress North America in San Jose (Sep 23–25). If you do go, stop by the BAND booth: a surprise is waiting for you.
