clausemap
we thought of ClauseMap cause Anyone who has reviewed contracts for a living knows the feeling. A 30-page agreement lands in your inbox at four in the afternoon, and before you can form an opinion on anything, you have to work out who's in it, what each side has signed up for, and which dates and amounts actually matter. That part isn't judgment. It's orientation, and it eats the first hour of every document. The shortcuts don't help much. You can skim, but that's how you miss the penalty clause on page 23. You can paste it into a chatbot and get a tidy summary, but the structure gets lost, and every so often it confidently tells you something the contract never says. Even when the summary is right, you can't take it to a partner or a client. Their first question is always "where does it say that?" We built ClauseMap for that first hour. You drop in a PDF. It reads the document page by page and picks out the parties, obligations, deadlines, amounts and main topics, then draws how they connect: who pays whom, who has to deliver what, and by when. You get a map of the whole agreement on one screen. Click any point and you see the exact sentence it came from, with the page number. Here's what we care about most. ClauseMap checks every quote against the actual page before showing it to you. If it can't find the words in the document, you don't see them. We'd rather show you less than show you something made up. You can also ask it questions, like "can either side terminate early?" or "what happens if delivery is late?", and the answer comes back with the pages it relied on, so you can check it yourself in a few seconds. It won't do the review for you, and it isn't meant to. What it does is get you to the point where your expertise matters faster. In ten minutes you know where the weight of the contract sits, which party carries most of the risk, and which three clauses deserve a proper read. Everything you write afterwards can be traced back to a page. We're building it for people who read dense documents under time pressure and can't afford to be wrong about what those documents say: due diligence teams, contract reviewers, compliance people and consultants.
