CodeLens — Developer Intelligence CodeLens is an AI-powered developer assistant that helps software teams reduce the time and effort spent understanding and managing code changes. When a developer creates a GitHub Pull Request, CodeLens analyzes the Git diff and checks the changed code for potential bugs, security issues, code-quality problems, complexity, and performance or optimization opportunities. It then uses AI to explain the findings in simple terms and suggest possible fixes. Instead of stopping at code analysis, CodeLens turns the same analysis into useful engineering outputs such as PR descriptions, testing checklists, Jira-ready details, and communication summaries. It also provides a Return-to-Work Summary that helps developers quickly understand important changes, PRs, and Jira updates after being away from a project. A key part of CodeLens is its Developer Friction Analytics, which records automation activities and estimates the time saved from repetitive tasks. This gives teams visibility into where developer effort is being reduced. The main workflow is: GitHub PR → Code Analysis → Debugging → Optimization → Testing → PR Documentation → Jira → Developer Analytics CodeLens is designed to work with developers, not replace them. AI-generated fixes and actions remain reviewable, and external actions such as creating Jira issues require developer approval.
