Kairo is an AI-powered autonomous trading agent designed to make algorithmic trading more accessible, explainable, and risk-aware. Instead of requiring users to manually monitor markets and decide when to trade, Kairo combines AI-driven market analysis with Alpaca's trading infrastructure to create an agent that can evaluate market conditions, identify potential opportunities, reason about trade decisions, and execute paper trades programmatically. The system is designed around an agentic workflow: market information is analyzed, a trading thesis is formed, risk is evaluated, and an execution decision is produced before an order is sent to Alpaca. The dashboard gives users a clear view of the agent's activity, decisions, portfolio state, and trading performance. Kairo is built with Alpaca at the center of the execution workflow, using Alpaca's trading capabilities to connect intelligent decision-making with real market infrastructure while keeping experimentation in a paper-trading environment. The goal is not simply to build another trading dashboard. Kairo explores how autonomous AI agents can responsibly interact with financial markets while keeping their behavior understandable to the human user. By combining AI reasoning, automated market analysis, programmatic trade execution, portfolio monitoring, and risk-aware decision making, Kairo provides a foundation for the next generation of AI-native trading tools.
