The Alpaca MCP-Powered Options Flow Analyzer & Follow-Through Agent is an innovative hackathon project that extends Alpaca's MCP ecosystem by building a custom MCP server capable of detecting unusual options order flow (sweeps, block trades, volume spikes) in real-time from Alpaca's WebSocket stream. This server powers a multi-agent AI system where a Flow Detection Agent generates trading signals, a Strategy Selector chooses optimal defined-risk options strategies (bull/bear spreads, iron condors), an Execution Agent simulates trades via Alpaca's paper trading tools, and a Risk Manager enforces strict position sizing (5% per trade), daily loss limits (10%), and portfolio controls. The project demonstrates genuine MCP innovation by creating server-side extensions rather than merely consuming existing tools, providing a competitive edge through institutional-grade flow analysis while maintaining professional risk management suitable for financial applications.
