WebLens is an autonomous AI-powered website auditing platform designed to help developers, website owners, and product teams understand the technical health and readiness of their websites from a single browser interface. Modern websites are increasingly complex, and identifying issues across accessibility, rendering, AI discoverability, structured data, user engagement, and visual assets often requires multiple specialized tools. This makes auditing time-consuming and makes it difficult to understand which issues actually have strong evidence behind them. WebLens solves this problem through a Chrome Extension backed by a containerized FastAPI service and an autonomous multi-skill audit pipeline. A user simply opens a website, launches the WebLens Side Panel, and clicks “Audit This Page.” The platform analyzes the target website using multiple specialized skills, including crawl and rendering analysis, freshness and structured-data verification, engagement analysis, multimodal asset analysis, and visual accessibility auditing. The system checks factors such as HTTP headers, robots.txt, XML sitemaps, rendered DOM differences, Schema.org JSON-LD, entity relationships, content freshness, readability, CTA clarity, image alt text, OCR-related issues, WCAG accessibility, keyboard focus, ARIA landmarks, contrast, and responsive behavior. A key aspect of WebLens is its evidence-gated finding system. Every finding is associated with an evidence tier ranging from directly measured technical evidence to heuristic observations. This helps prevent weak heuristic signals from being presented as highly severe issues. Findings are deduplicated, assigned severity and confidence, and accompanied by evidence and suggested actions. The platform is designed to be non-destructive and read-only. The FastAPI backend provides SSRF protection, rate limiting, job isolation, timeouts, and secure API-key handling. Each audit runs in an isolated subprocess with its own temporary workspace, allowing multiple audits to execute safely without sharing state. Results are streamed to the Chrome Side Panel through Server-Sent Events and can be viewed as structured findings or exported reports. By combining automated technical analysis, AI-assisted reasoning, evidence-based severity, and an interactive browser experience, WebLens turns a traditionally fragmented website audit into a single actionable workflow.
