Life Manager’s Alpaca investment loop is a native macOS launchd workflow. Every five minutes, launchd starts one finite pass, and the process exits when that pass is complete. The pass reads the dedicated Alpaca paper account through the pinned Alpaca CLI, builds candidates from current broker and market data, and asks a model to choose one offered candidate or NO_TRADE. Deterministic code—not the model—enforces quote freshness, spread, expected value, per-trade loss, open risk, cash reserve, drawdown, position, and order limits before any order can be submitted. Every effect receives a stable client order ID, is persisted before execution, and is reconciled against official broker state before a retry, preventing duplicate exposure after timeouts or restarts. Results—including NO_TRADE decisions, account equity, positions, orders, and paper P&L—are stored outside immutable releases and reported to Telegram. The hackathon uses a fresh $100,000 Alpaca paper account. Paper results are simulated and are not revenue or a promise of future returns.
