DarkRoom is an autonomous AI trading agent built to research markets, develop trading strategies and make evidence-based trading decisions through a structured quantitative workflow. Rather than relying on a single fixed strategy, DarkRoom can generate multiple strategy candidates, test them against historical market data, compare their performance and reject ideas that fail its validation process. The agent combines quantitative analysis, backtesting, statistical testing, market research, execution modelling and risk controls to decide which opportunities are worth acting on. DarkRoom is designed around the idea that an AI trading system should not simply produce a buy or sell signal. It should be able to form a hypothesis, test that hypothesis, challenge its own assumptions and evaluate alternative strategies before committing to a decision. The agent uses modular tools and reusable skills for market analysis, strategy generation, historical testing, robustness checks and portfolio decision-making. This architecture allows DarkRoom to continuously expand with new research methods, datasets and trading capabilities without rebuilding the entire system. Risk and execution discipline are core parts of the design. Strategies can be tested under realistic assumptions such as transaction costs, position limits and execution constraints before they are considered viable. The long-term goal of DarkRoom is to create an AI trading agent capable of operating more like an independent quantitative trader: researching opportunities, reasoning about uncertainty, testing competing ideas, managing risk and continuously improving its decision-making process from accumulated evidence. DarkRoom is not just an AI that predicts markets. It is an autonomous system designed to research, validate and act on trading opportunities through disciplined quantitative reasoning.
