Momentum Intelligence Agent (MIA)
Momentum Intelligence Agent is a fully autonomous trading system for the Options Alpha Agents track. It scans all 503 S&P 500 stocks daily, computing multi-horizon returns, relative strength vs SPY and sector, volume metrics, and technical structure. A weighted composite score ranks the universe to the top 50 candidates. Each candidate is enriched with financials, earnings history, and catalyst detection via Alpaca News API. Then two AI models debate every trade through Featherless AI: the K2 Analyst (Kimi K2-Instruct) builds a structured thesis with confidence scores and invalidation conditions, while the Qwen Critic (Qwen3-32B) independently attempts to falsify it using the same raw evidence. The LLM's recommendation is advisory only. Eleven deterministic gates control authorization: momentum thresholds, AI confidence minimums, market regime exposure, position sizing, per-trade risk limits, earnings risk, and more. Approved trades proceed to options contract selection (7-21 DTE, 0.50-0.65 delta, max spread filters) and paper execution through Alpaca's Trading API. Open positions are continuously monitored against their entry thesis with seven exit conditions (stop-loss, time stop, profit taking, momentum decay, technical invalidation, thesis expiry, regime change). Exits are deterministic — the AI never authorizes closing trades. A Next.js dashboard with shadcn/ui provides real-time visibility: trading cycles with the full K2 vs Qwen adversarial debate rendered as chat bubbles, open positions, trade history, and system configuration. The pipeline runs autonomously on a configurable interval, writing every decision to an auditable JSON journal. AI provides intelligence — deterministic code holds the keys.
