Software developers spend significant time understanding unfamiliar codebases, identifying bugs, reviewing security vulnerabilities, writing tests, and maintaining documentation. Traditional code review tools often focus on specific tasks and do not provide an intelligent, unified assistant that can understand and improve software quality. CodeGuardian AI addresses this challenge by providing an AI-powered code analysis platform that acts as a virtual development partner for programmers, students, and software teams. Users can upload source code or paste code snippets into the platform. The AI assistant analyzes the code and generates structured reports including code explanations, bug detection, security vulnerability identification, refactoring recommendations, automated test case generation, and documentation assistance. The platform is designed with a modern full-stack architecture consisting of React and TypeScript for the frontend, Node.js and Express for backend APIs, FastAPI for AI processing services, MongoDB for data management, and IBM watsonx.ai Granite models for intelligent code analysis. The solution integrates IBM watsonx.ai to provide advanced generative AI capabilities for understanding programming logic, identifying potential issues, and generating developer-focused recommendations. A fallback analysis mechanism ensures a reliable demonstration experience. CodeGuardian AI targets software developers, students learning programming, open-source contributors, and development teams who want faster and more efficient code understanding and review workflows. The uniqueness of CodeGuardian AI lies in combining multiple developer assistance capabilities into a single platform. Instead of using separate tools for debugging, documentation, testing, and security review, users receive a complete AI-driven code improvement workflow. The platform also includes user authentication, analysis history, dashboard visualization, API security validation, Docker-based deployment, and modular service architecture, making it scalable and suitable for real-world adoption. By reducing manual review effort and providing actionable AI-generated insights, CodeGuardian AI helps developers write cleaner, safer, and more maintainable software.
