DARK-FACTORY is an autonomous financial ledger backend built for the Pocketful / BAND Dark Factory Track. Traditional fintech systems frequently suffer from concurrency race conditions, floating-point roundoff errors, and silent balance corruption. DARK-FACTORY solves this through strict mathematical conservation and a 4-seat autonomous BAND Room workflow. The core architecture is governed by four autonomous agents operating inside BAND Desktop: 1. The Architect formalizes relational contracts, DAG handoffs, and the zero-sum invariant: sum(debits) - sum(credits) == 0. 2. The Implementer builds the SQLite WAL atomic engine using test-driven development (TDD) with strict 64-bit integer cents. 3. The Adversary acts as an automated chaos fuzzer, executing 100-way concurrent race attacks and replay injections. 4. The Verifier audits mandate genericness, verifies hermetic containers, and signs FACTORY.md. The platform delivers across four progressive release stages: - Stage 1: Zero-sum double-entry ledger with Reserve 0000-0000 and dynamic balance fold aggregation (strictly zero mutable balance columns). - Stage 2: SQLite BEGIN IMMEDIATE exclusive write locks with jittered backoff retries, surviving 100 parallel requests with zero double-spends and <1ms SHA-256 idempotency replay caching. - Stage 3: Dual temporal coordinates (valid_at business effective date vs system_at commit date) with time-travel queries and 100% immutable append-only reversals (+2 rows, zero row deletions). - Stage 4: Multi-currency fixed integer basis-point scaling (10,000 BPS = 1.0000x), automated platform fee routing to 9999-FEE, and a 3-state Escrow Hold state machine. All mandate files in .band/mandates/ maintain 100% genericness with zero leaked track terms. Every stage is hermetically containerized to build and execute offline with --network none and zero network egress. 100% test pass rates certified in FACTORY.md.

🌎 Online Hackathon | 💻 Online Build: Sept 26 - Oct 5, 2026 A virtual, global hackathon. Build from anywhere in the world. Dark Factory is the official hackathon of WeAreDevelopers World Congress North America, presented by BAND, but you don't need to be in San Jose to take part. For one week, you build a software factory in BAND Desktop: a band of coding agents that plans work, implements it and checks its own results. 🎟️ Bonus for sign-ups: you are eligible for a free ticket to WeAreDevelopers World Congress North America in San Jose (Sep 23–25). If you do go, stop by the BAND booth: a surprise is waiting for you.
