DevFix AI is an AI-assisted coding and debugging platform designed to help students, beginners, and developers identify and understand programming errors more easily. Debugging can be difficult for beginners because an error message often tells them where a problem occurred but does not clearly explain why it happened or how to fix it. DevFix AI aims to simplify this process by providing an interactive code editor where users can enter or paste their source code and analyze it. The platform is designed to detect coding problems, explain the detected issue in a simple way, and provide a corrected version of the code. The goal is to support multiple programming languages rather than limiting the platform to a single language. This makes DevFix AI useful for learners who are working with languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, JavaScript, and other commonly used programming languages. The target users are mainly students, beginner programmers, and developers who want faster debugging assistance. A user can enter their code, run the analysis, review the detected problem, understand the reason for the error, and use the suggested correction as a learning reference. The project focuses on making debugging more accessible, simple, and beginner-friendly. Instead of only showing an error message, the platform is designed to connect the error with an explanation and a possible correction. This can help users learn from their mistakes while developing their programming skills. IBM BOB was used extensively during development to scaffold the project, create and modify the frontend and backend structure, build React components, implement the code analysis flow, install dependencies, identify build issues, and fix configuration and code errors. The development workflow also used IBM BOB to test and verify the application after changes. DevFix AI is currently a working prototype that demonstrates the core concept of an AI-assisted debugging platform, with further improvements planned for more programming languages, stronger analysis capabilities, and a more complete production-ready AI integration.
