Problem Statement: Welcoming new developers to a project is often a slow and manual process. Senior developers spend hours explaining the codebase structure, tech stack, and setup instructions. Lack of up-to-date documentation makes it hard for newcomers to understand where to start, leading to a loss of productivity. Solution: The "Smart Developer Onboarding Assistant" solves this problem by automating the onboarding documentation process. Using the capabilities of IBM Bob 2.0, this tool intelligently scans the entire project directory. It extracts the file structure, identifies the tech stack, and outlines the architecture. Based on this analysis, it automatically generates a highly detailed and readable ONBOARDING.md file. Target Users & Interaction: The primary users are software engineering teams, technical leads, and new developers. A developer simply runs the assistant in their workspace. The AI agent processes the files recursively and outputs a clear guide. Creativity & IBM Bob 2.0 Usage: The uniqueness of this project lies in leveraging IBM Bob 2.0's Agent Mode and Document Understanding features. Instead of writing docs manually, the AI acts as a subagent workflow that understands the context of the codebase and generates human-readable setup instructions instantly. This ensures documentation is always accurate and saves countless hours for the engineering team.
