Modern software developers operate in high-velocity environments where shipping fast often takes precedence over rigorous manual security audits. This creates two critical attack surfaces: 1. Vulnerable Source Code: Developers frequently introduce critical OWASP vulnerabilities, such as SQL Injection (CWE-89), insecure cryptography (CWE-327), and path traversal into production code. 2. Malicious Repositories & Supply Chain Attacks: Threat actors target developers through fake recruitment assessments on GitHub. Candidates clone untrusted repositories and run "npm install", inadvertently triggering malicious lifecycle hooks (preinstall/postinstall) that fetch remote loaders and execute arbitrary code to compromise developer workstations and steal credentials. Sentinel Sandbox solves both challenges through a dual-engine architecture: - Static Code Auditor & Auto-Patcher: Analyzes source code, provides structured vulnerability explanations with exact line numbers and CWE tags, and automatically generates production-ready, secure refactored code. - Supply Chain & Pre-Install Inspector: Inspects repository configurations, package.json files, and installation scripts before execution, flagging hidden network loaders and suspicious lifecycle hooks to safeguard the developer's local environment. By addressing vulnerabilities at the source and safeguarding the developer workflow, Sentinel Sandbox transforms code security into a proactive, automated guardian.
