LIFE OS: AI-Powered Personal Decision & Adaptive Planning System Modern individuals, especially students and young professionals, manage multiple competing responsibilities such as academics, projects, hackathons, internships, deadlines, events, personal commitments and limited free time. Existing productivity applications primarily focus on task management and scheduling, but they often fail when real-life circumstances change. They can tell users what to do, but they rarely help users understand the consequences of changing their plans. LIFE OS addresses this gap by introducing an AI-powered personal decision and adaptive planning system. Instead of functioning as a traditional task manager, LIFE OS builds a structured representation of the user's commitments, deadlines, priorities, available time and dependencies through a connected "Life Graph." The system uses AI-based planning and reasoning components to understand the user's situation and generate a realistic schedule. A Reality Checker evaluates whether the proposed plan is feasible within the user's available time, while an AI Critic identifies conflicts, deadline risks and unrealistic assumptions. The key feature of LIFE OS is its "What-If" decision simulation engine. Users can introduce hypothetical decisions such as "What if I spend Saturday working on my hackathon?" or "What if I take a part-time internship?" The system creates a scenario and evaluates its impact on available time, workload, deadlines, project progress and other commitments. A deterministic simulation layer performs the underlying calculations, while AI explains the consequences in an understandable manner. When a decision creates conflicts or makes the existing plan unrealistic, LIFE OS automatically generates an optimized alternative schedule. This makes the system adaptive rather than static. The planning cycle therefore becomes: understand the user's situation, create a plan, simulate decisions, identify consequences, and dynamically replan. LIFE OS can accept information through multiple input methods including text, manual entry, documents, screenshots and voice, allowing users to provide information without manually creating every task. The project's central idea is simple: LIFE OS does not just tell users what they should do. It helps them understand what could happen if they make a different decision and then adapts their plan accordingly. By combining AI reasoning, structured personal data, consequence simulation and adaptive scheduling, LIFE OS aims to transform conventional productivity software from a passive task manager into an intelligent personal decision-support system.
