RootCause AI is an AI-powered developer assistant designed to reduce the time and effort required to diagnose and fix software bugs. Problem: Debugging is one of the most time-consuming parts of software development. When a bug occurs, developers often have to manually search through source code, logs, failed tests, recent code changes, and documentation to understand what went wrong. As projects become larger and more complex, finding the actual root cause can take hours and may involve repeated trial-and-error fixes. This process also increases the risk of introducing new bugs while fixing existing ones. Solution: RootCause AI transforms debugging into an automated, evidence-driven workflow. A developer submits a bug report, and the system investigates the relevant project files, logs, tests, and recent changes. AI-powered agents analyze these sources, identify the most likely root cause, and present the supporting evidence to the developer. Instead of stopping at an explanation, RootCause AI continues through the development workflow by proposing or implementing a fix, generating a regression test, and running verification tests to determine whether the issue has actually been resolved. Workflow: Bug Report → Code & Evidence Analysis → Root Cause → Fix → Regression Test → Verification Target Users: RootCause AI is designed for software developers, development teams, QA engineers, and engineering organizations that regularly troubleshoot application issues. User Interaction: A developer enters a bug description and selects the project to investigate. RootCause AI performs the investigation and displays its findings through a clear interface, including the relevant files, evidence, root-cause explanation, proposed fix, generated tests, and verification results. Creativity & Uniqueness: Unlike a basic AI coding chatbot that simply suggests code, RootCause AI focuses on the complete debugging workflow. It connects multiple sources of evidence and uses an agent-based approach to move from problem discovery to verified resolution. This makes the AI's reasoning more transparent and reduces reliance on guesswork. Effectiveness & Efficiency: By automating repetitive investigation tasks and validating proposed solutions with regression tests, RootCause AI aims to reduce manual debugging effort, accelerate issue resolution, and improve confidence that a fix actually solves the original problem without introducing regressions.
