The form specifically asks for the problem, users, interaction, uniqueness, and how it solves the issue, so I would use this instead of the earlier version: CollisionLab addresses a gap in modern software integration: a clean Git merge does not guarantee that two features actually work together. Developers can independently create changes that pass their own tests and merge without textual conflicts while relying on incompatible assumptions about identity, data formats, or application behavior. These semantic conflicts can remain hidden until integration testing or production. CollisionLab is a developer workflow for exposing these conflicts earlier. It is designed for software developers, reviewers, and engineering teams working with parallel Git branches. A developer selects a prepared branch scenario, and CollisionLab verifies each branch independently, checks that Git can merge them, executes a focused integration test against the combined behavior, and presents reproducible evidence through a visual dashboard. The prototype demonstrates three classes of semantic conflict. In the first, authentication changes from username to email while a profile cache still assumes usernames, causing a successful login to return a null profile. In the second, a product catalog changes prices from numeric values to structured objects while the shopping cart still performs numeric multiplication, producing NaN. In the third, soft-deleted users remain stored while reporting logic continues counting them as active. IBM Bob 2.0 is used within the development workflow to inspect branch changes, compare assumptions between features, reason about possible interactions, help design targeted integration tests, explain why combined behavior fails, and assist with compatible fixes. CollisionLab is different from conventional merge checking because it focuses on behavior rather than text. Git answers whether two sets of code can be combined syntactically. CollisionLab asks whether the resulting application still behaves correctly. By combining AI-assisted reasoning with isolated Git worktrees, automated integration tests, and reproducible evidence, CollisionLab can reduce manual debugging and make integration failures easier to understand before software is released.

🌎 Online Hackathon | 💻 Online Build: Sept 26 - Oct 5, 2026 A virtual, global hackathon. Build from anywhere in the world. Dark Factory is the official hackathon of WeAreDevelopers World Congress North America, presented by BAND, but you don't need to be in San Jose to take part. For one week, you build a software factory in BAND Desktop: a band of coding agents that plans work, implements it and checks its own results. 🎟️ Bonus for sign-ups: you are eligible for a free ticket to WeAreDevelopers World Congress North America in San Jose (Sep 23–25). If you do go, stop by the BAND booth: a surprise is waiting for you.
