The problem Most of the times, testing happens independently by testing team which is outside the reach of the development teams. Someone writes a test case in one place, it runs somewhere else, and the result shows up days later. When a test fails, the report usually just says "failed." It leaves out the data that was used, what the app actually returned, and what the screen looked like. So the developer has to dig around and rebuild the whole thing before they can even start fixing it. On top of that, a new feature can quietly break something that used to work, and the testing team is often the first to find out. All of this slows down every release. Our solution OCR-processor web application demonstrates the art of possible of this core problem. OCR processor is a small web application which demonstrates functionalities like login, change password, analyze new OCR document and searches the existing documents. Core functionality is. we upload a PDF or an image, it reads the text, saves it, and writes a short summary. To demonstrate the automation testing for unit, regression and end-to-end test scenarios, I have introduced a new Tests tab. That tab takes the manual test cases for the app and turns them into automated ones you can run with a click. we can run either full cases at one shot or select specific cases to run. Who it is for It is mainly for developers who want to check their own work before handing it to the testing team. Testers can open the same tab to see what has already been run and what it showed. How it works You open the Tests tab and pick Unit, Regression, or End to end. You can run everything, or just tick the cases your change might affect. The app sets up the test data for you, like the user account and the document to upload. When the run is done, each case tells you: - what it did, what it checked, and what it saw - when it started, when it finished, and how long it took - a screenshot of the result Anything that failed moves to the top of the list. Click Details and it tells you where it went wrong, why, and how to fix it. There is also a Coverage view that shows which requirements have tests and explains why the others do not have one yet. What makes it special The proof comes with every result. You write a manual case once, and from then on it runs by itself and shows you the data, the outcome, and a screenshot each time. Regression runs make sure things like sign-up, login, search, upload, and summary still work after every new feature. Developers see problems while they are still working on the change, and the testing team gets a build that has already had a first check. Why it matters Developers get instant feedback which helps them to understand and fix the issue right away. So there is less back and forth about what was tested and why it failed for some specific scenarios. Problems show up earlier. Old features get checked every time something new is added. Key advantage is, this will reduce the cycle time for testing and defect fixing time. with this aproach, we can see both development and testing teams efforts at the integrated place and we can verify degrades/ impacts with real automation testing.
