Memory Mate is an AI powered care companion built to combat caregiver burnout and provide patient, endless reassurance to seniors experiencing short-term memory loss or early stage dementia. Seniors with cognitive decline often ask the same questions dozens of times a day, what day it is, who's visiting, where they are, leaving caregivers emotionally exhausted from constant repetition. Sticky notes and standard reminder apps don't work because seniors often forget to check them or find them too complex to use. Memory Mate solves this with two connected pieces: a Family Caregiver Dashboard where relatives log daily events like meals, medications, mood, and shared tasks, and an AI Voice Companion that seniors interact with through a simple "Hold to Speak" button. The voice companion draws on those caregiver logs to answer questions warmly and accurately, acting as an infinite well of patience that offloads cognitive burden from the family. Under the hood, Memory Mate runs a multi agent AI system: an Orchestrator Agent handles the senior's conversation and decides when to pull memory data or real-time context; a Guardian Agent monitors for looping questions, confusion, or signs of medical distress and raises alerts on the caregiver dashboard; and a Synthesis Agent structures caregiver-entered data for storage and later retrieval. It's built on React, TypeScript, TailwindCSS, and Supabase, with OpenAI's GPT-4o-mini, Whisper, and TTS-1 Nova powering the conversational and voice experience, all designed with a premium, high-contrast, empathetic UI for both caregivers and less tech literate seniors.
