PacaPounce is a paper-trading AI agent inspired by a patient cat: it watches the market, waits for a worthwhile opportunity, and only pounces when the conditions make sense. The AI searches for opportunities, chooses a direction and explains its reasoning in plain language. Before any trade is placed, PacaPounce checks real Alpaca market and account information to confirm that the idea is affordable, tradable and worth the risk. If the opportunity is weak, too expensive or unsafe, the agent says no and explains why. PacaPounce uses two approaches. Its main strategy looks for opportunities in SPY and QQQ options. When no suitable option trade is available, a second strategy checks 30 large Nasdaq companies for stocks that may be ready for a short recovery. This gives the agent more chances to trade without forcing a bad decision. After entering a trade, PacaPounce continues watching it, protects profits, limits losses and closes positions when its rules are triggered. It also remembers existing orders and positions after a restart, preventing accidental duplicate trades. A simple dashboard shows the account, open positions, profit and loss, AI reasoning, rejected ideas and completed actions. Every decision can be reviewed and explained. PacaPounce does not claim to predict every market move. Its goal is to demonstrate a transparent, autonomous trading agent that knows how to search, wait, act and manage risk using Alpaca.
