Most Africans only visit a dentist during dental emergencies, avoiding preventative conversations due to cost, stigma, and access barriers. In underserved coastal communities, this turns treatable issues into severe infections. The Dr. Papi Foundation is building a voice-first oral health triage, education, and appointment booking gateway directly on WhatsApp. Powered by AssemblyAI's speech engine, our platform ingests spoken voice notes in Kiswahili and English, transcribing and structuring symptom profiles for human dental review under our Empty Throne protocol. By meeting patients where they already communicate, we make preventative literacy and chairside dental care accessible before emergencies hit.
