"Off Campus team on AssemblyAI - Voice Agent Hackathon Hackathon"
Team Idea
A voice agent for Maharashtra engineering admissions. A student calls a number, says their MHT-CET percentile, category and home district, and hears which colleges they realistically have a chance at — and whether those seats are actually vacant right now. Built on AssemblyAI streaming speech-to-text (Universal-3.5 Pro) with LiveKit, in English and Hindi. Grounded in official DTE data: all four 2025 CAP rounds, plus the Round 4 vacancy list published on 29 August 2026 (23,107 seats). The part that matters: admissions advice that is confidently wrong does real damage to a real decision. So every number is computed twice, by two independent implementations, and is only spoken if they agree. It also keeps "no seats left" and "I have no data" as separate answers — they sound identical out loud and mean opposite things.
