SautiCare

Across Africa, over 100 million elderly parents and grandparents own smartphones but remain digitally excluded. Complex English interfaces, tiny fonts, unfamiliar icons, and fear of financial fraud create severe technology anxiety. Because African culture is fundamentally oral-first, aging seniors overwhelmingly prefer speaking and listening over typing on touchscreens. SautiCare is a Pan-African voice navigator and emergency lifeline designed specifically for African elders. Powered by AssemblyAI’s sub-second streaming Speech-to-Text engine, SautiCare provides culturally grounded, respectful assistance across four major linguistic zones: Kiswahili (East Africa), Nigerian Pidgin (West Africa), isiZulu (Southern Africa), and Amharic (Horn of Africa). Equipped with ten authentic regional neural voices boosted by +40% volume amplification, it comfortably accommodates age-related hearing loss. SautiCare empowers seniors to independently master everyday smartphone capabilities: • Voice Guidance: Step-by-step oral walkthroughs for sending WhatsApp voice notes, capturing photos, and playing uplifting regional gospel music on YouTube. • Accessibility on Demand: Voice-activated screen magnification that instantly enlarges text by +25% for easy reading without glasses. • Fintech Fraud Protection: Step-by-step verification for mobile money transfers (M-Pesa, OPay, eWallet, Telebirr), ensuring elders never share PINs or send funds to wrong recipients. • Life-Saving Emergency SOS: A single tap dispatches an automated SMS with real-time GPS coordinates to family caregivers while initiating an immediate cellular call. With Progressive Web App (PWA) offline resilience, SautiCare gracefully falls back to hardware GSM calling and offline USSD guides whenever cellular data runs out (0MB), ensuring every African elder connects with dignity, independence, and safety.
