Team Idea
Order Assistant is a multimodal AI agent for restaurants that lets customers browse menus, ask questions, customize meals, and place orders through voice or chat. Customers can start by speaking naturally—“I want a spicy chicken burrito with no cheese” or by typing, then switch between audio and chat at any time without losing the conversation, cart, modifiers, or order details. The agent uses live menu and availability data to guide customers through required choices such as size, toppings, spice level, sides, pickup, or delivery. It summarizes the complete order and total for explicit customer confirmation before checkout. It can answer menu, ingredient, pricing & dietary questions, while escalating severe allergy requests or complex issues to restaurant staff. After confirmation, the system validates the structured order and sends it to the restaurant POS/KDS. Restaurants gain a 24/7 ordering channel that reduces missed calls, improves accuracy & creates a seamless guest experience.
