Voice Lab is a voice-first AI scientific copilot for molecular symmetry. Instead of generating chemistry answers as plain text, Voice Lab converts natural-language or voice requests into structured scientific actions, retrieves and normalizes molecular data, performs deterministic symmetry calculations, verifies the generated operations and representations, and presents the result with an auditable Research Replay. Users can ask questions such as “Analyze BF3 and tell me its point group.” Voice Lab resolves the molecular structure, visualizes the molecule in 3D, determines the symmetry operations, identifies the point group, constructs the Cartesian representation, and reduces it using group theory. The system combines Assembly AI-powered voice interaction with a deterministic scientific computation layer. PubChem supports molecular structure and data workflows, while 3Dmol.js provides interactive 3D molecular visualization. The scientific engine performs the actual symmetry calculations rather than relying on an LLM to invent the result. For BF3, Voice Lab can identify the D3h point group, verify its 12 symmetry operations, and derive the Cartesian representation Γ(x,y,z) = E′ + A₂″. Research Replay preserves the computational evidence behind an answer, making the system useful not only as a conversational voice agent but as a transparent scientific tool. Voice Lab demonstrates a different approach to voice AI: the AI orchestrates, while deterministic science computes and verification establish trust.
