Team Idea
Read-Along Coach — a patient reading coach for early readers and ESL learners. It listens to someone read aloud via AssemblyAI Universal-Streaming, tracks their position word-by-word using sequence alignment, and only interrupts with help after a genuine stall — never for an ordinary pause. When speech is unclear, the word is marked "couldn't hear" and excluded from scoring, never marked wrong. Reports real fluency metrics (words correct per minute, accuracy, practice words) that teachers and parents already understand, with 12 leveled passages and session history tracked locally.
