AutoHeal CI — Autonomous Pipeline Self-Healing

The Problem Software engineering teams lose up to 30% of their sprint velocity diagnosing broken CI/CD pipelines. Modern asynchronous architectures, microtask scheduling, and integration points frequently suffer from subtle race conditions and missing promises that produce cryptic, multi-page stack traces. When a build breaks, developers must context-switch, pull the failing commit, manually isolate the defect, and push speculative fixes. Traditional AI code assistants cannot solve this effectively because they operate blind: they lack repository Abstract Syntax Tree (AST) context, cannot execute their own proposals, and often introduce breaking changes or hallucinated APIs. The Solution AutoHeal CI is an autonomous, closed-loop pipeline remediation engine. When a test suite fails in continuous integration, AutoHeal CI intercepts the telemetry, diagnoses the root cause using IBM Bob 2.0, applies a surgical patch in an ephemeral sandbox, deterministically verifies the fix, and opens a fully documented GitHub Pull Request ready for human sign-off. Target Users & Interaction Model AutoHeal CI is designed for software engineering teams, DevOps/platform engineers, and open-source maintainers. The user interaction is completely zero-touch: Developers push code to GitHub as normal. If a workflow fails, GitHub Actions automatically dispatches the failure logs and commit diff (HEAD~1) to the AutoHeal daemon. Within 60 seconds, developers receive a notification for an auto-generated Pull Request containing the clean patch, a synthesized regression test, and an audited diagnostic summary. The engineer reviews the diff and clicks merge. Creativity & Uniqueness Unlike passive coding chatbots or static linters, AutoHeal CI introduces an active, closed-loop execution pattern: AST-Aware Agentic Planning: IBM Bob 2.0 doesn't just guess code changes; it analyzes call sites and execution flow to determine root causes. 3-Pass Deterministic Sandboxing: To eliminate test flakiness, a patch is never submitted based on model confidence alone. AutoHeal mounts an isolated workspace and enforces a mandatory 3-pass consecutive test execution threshold. Invariant Guard Synthesis: Beyond patching the broken line, the system synthesizes concurrency guard tests to permanently protect against future regressions. Effectiveness & Efficiency AutoHeal CI compresses Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR) from hours of manual triage down to under 45 seconds of machine execution. It eliminates context-switching, prevents broken builds from blocking shared staging branches, and guarantees that every pull request submitted is provably functional and non-breaking.
