Navigating traditional trading platforms often presents a steep learning curve for retail investors, requiring them to manage complex order tickets, real-time chart screens, and account dashboards simultaneously. Trade Bot was created for the Alpaca AI Trading Agents Hackathon to remove these barriers by providing a conversational trading dynamic powered by AI agents. By combining Alpaca’s financial infrastructure with modern agentic AI tool-calling, Trade Bot allows users to check account health, query asset prices, and execute buy/sell orders using simple, natural language commands. The bot doubles as an interactive customer support specialist, explaining complex financial concepts and trade outcomes in real time. Key Highlights: Conversational Order Execution: Place market and limit orders effortlessly through structured conversational prompts. Integrated Account Analytics: Access instant updates on buying power, profit/loss metrics, and active positions. 24/7 AI Support Agent: Answers platform questions, decodes order errors, and guides users through market mechanics. Robust MCP Architecture: Employs Model Context Protocol to maintain reliable, safe connections between the AI model and live financial endpoints. Trade Bot bridges the gap between customer assistance and automated execution, empowering users to trade with confidence and ease.
