KARYA is a voice-first AI agent built around one simple idea: you shouldn't have to navigate software to get things done — you should be able to speak. Instead of acting like a traditional chatbot that only returns text, KARYA interprets what the user wants, selects the appropriate tool, performs the action, verifies the result, and responds naturally with voice. Users can create, edit, complete, prioritize, and organize tasks; create and search notes; calculate values; ask for the current time or date; check weather; research the web; interact with calendars; work with GitHub; access persistent memory; and create day plans through natural conversation. KARYA is designed for conversational workflows rather than isolated commands. A user can start with a simple request, provide additional information naturally, and ask KARYA to continue or modify the work without navigating through multiple screens. The architecture also provides a foundation for browser and desktop automation, allowing KARYA to eventually extend beyond its own interface and operate across the user's digital workspace. Voice interaction is powered by AssemblyAI's Voice Agent technology, while the application combines a Next.js interface, server-side tools, persistent state, authentication, integrations, and real-time activity telemetry. KARYA's goal is simple: Speak. Decide. Done.
