CodeTalk is a voice-first AI technical interview simulator engineered to bridge the gap between solving algorithmic problems in silence and effectively communicating thought processes out loud during high-stakes software engineering interviews. Traditional platforms like LeetCode and HackerRank only evaluate whether automated unit tests pass, offering zero feedback on verbal reasoning, problem decomposition, or communication composure—the exact criteria that cause over 70% of candidate rejections at top-tier tech companies like Google, Meta, and Amazon. Powered by AssemblyAI’s Universal Streaming Speech-to-Text API, CodeTalk captures raw candidate speech over WebSockets with sub-150ms latency, transcribing spoken explanations in real time as the candidate writes code in an industrial-grade Monaco editor supporting Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C++, and Go. An adaptive Claude-powered AI interviewer actively listens, probes algorithmic trade-offs, and challenges brute-force assumptions before candidates dive into writing code. Upon submission, CodeTalk performs a multimodal evaluation that cross-references the written syntax with the spoken transcript. Candidates receive strict 0–5 rubrics, Big-O runtime audits, and advanced Pro vocal telemetry—including speaking rate meters (WPM) and filler word analytics ("um", "like")—giving engineers the realistic verbal simulation needed to land life-changing job offers.
