Asim Shafi is a final-year MBBS student at Swat Medical College, Khyber Medical University, and founder/CEO of Mate Technologies Inc., an AI healthcare startup based in Swat Valley, KPK, Pakistan. He also serves as VP KPK at SYNCH Pakistan. His work began personally: after a family member, a retired physician, suffered a stroke, Asim built StrokeMate, an AI rehabilitation platform using MediaPipe pose estimation, Supabase, and the Claude API to track recovery and generate clinical insights. This became the anchor of a broader ecosystem including RuralMate OS (Urdu/Pashto AI triage for rural health workers, piloted with Swat's DHO), DermaMate AI, LinguaMate, DiagnosMate, TreatMate, and MedMate AI. Alongside product work, Asim has completed two PROSPERO-registered systematic reviews — on agentic AI for clinical decision support and ML for sepsis prediction in LMICs — and self-studies AI/ML via Stanford, IBM, and Imperial College coursework. He's preparing StrokeMate for the Built with Claude: Life Sciences hackathon, adding ROM/symmetry scoring and a clinician dashboard. Post-MBBS, he plans a house job, then full-time focus on Mate Technologies, pursuing the LUMS Diploma in Digital Health and eventually an Oxford MSc. Based in Swat Valley, Asim builds AI tools grounded in direct clinical experience for patients often overlooked by digital health innovation.

Healthcare software development requires careful planning, testing, security reviews, documentation, and release preparation. However, developers working on healthcare-related projects may lack a simple, structured workflow that brings these activities together. Missing requirements, incomplete testing, and overlooked risks can make development and release preparation harder to manage. MedDev Guardian is a prototype built for the IBM Bob 2.0 Hackathon. It provides a guided, seven-stage workflow for healthcare software development: Understand, Plan, Implement, Test, Security Review, Documentation, and Release Readiness. Developers can organize feature requests, generate structured implementation plans, track task completion, review testing requirements, manage security checklists, and assess release readiness from one dashboard. The Evidence & Metrics panel summarizes the current workflow state, helping users see completed tasks, outstanding checks, and remaining work. The prototype is designed for healthcare software developers, student developers, and teams building health-related applications. Its key idea is to make important development steps visible and organized through a single, easy-to-use interface rather than scattered notes and checklists. MedDev Guardian is a self-contained demonstration with a deterministic plan generator and interactive workflow checklists. It does not process patient data, run clinical workflows, or replace professional security testing. Checklist results depend on user input, and the prototype has not been clinically validated or submitted for regulatory approval. The goal is to demonstrate how structured workflow guidance can help development teams organize their work and prepare healthcare software projects for review and release.

Aethel Bio is an enterprise precision oncology platform built 100% on Natively AI, bridging Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) pathology data with active clinical trials in real time. THE PROBLEM Late-stage cancer patients are out of time, but traditional trial matching is bogged down by 50-page unstructured pathology PDFs. Over 80% of eligible patients are rejected due to rigid inclusion cutoffs without waiver evaluation, while pharma sponsors lose millions opening trial sites blind to regional patient demand. OUR SOLUTION & ARCHITECTURE Orchestrated on Natively AI, Aethel Bio transforms genomic reports into actionable clinical pathways: • AI Pathology Parser: Parses PDF, DOCX, and TXT files in under 3 seconds, extracting mutations (EGFR, KRAS, BRCA1), staging, and organ panels. • Protocol Waiver Sensitivity Slider: Interactive tolerance slider letting clinicians test "what-if" scenarios for borderline lab function (e.g., eGFR 54 vs 60 mL/min) without altering official EHRs. • Dual-View Exporters: Generates technical Physician Dossiers with PI referral drafts alongside plain-language Patient Guides with care-team checklists. • Sponsor Feasibility Analytics: Maps unmatched patients (<50% match score) into a de-identified market registry, giving pharma sponsors density maps and CSV/JSON exports. • 1-Click Guest Sandbox: Instant access for oncologists, and patients with zero sign-up friction. TECHNOLOGY Built on Natively AI using React/Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and client-side HIPAA sanitization. Natively AI orchestrates our Supabase (PostgreSQL) DB and secure ClinicalTrials.gov REST API v2 sync. IMPACT Aethel Bio slashes trial discovery time by 99%—turning days of research into 3 clicks, empowering patients, and optimizing clinical trial enrollment.
