VOLTRON Volatility Alpha is an autonomous AI powered options trading agent designed to identify volatility driven opportunities and execute defined risk options strategies through Alpaca. The system combines quantitative market analysis with Gemini based AI reasoning rather than relying on an LLM alone. VOLTRON calculates realized volatility (RV), implied volatility (IV) and the IV/RV relationship to detect potential volatility dislocations and generate an opportunity score. Gemini analyzes the quantitative context, market direction, thesis and risks before a strategy can be considered. A deterministic risk engine then evaluates trade risk, daily loss limits, portfolio exposure, liquidity, consecutive losses, options buying power, and emergency safety controls. The system supports multi-leg options strategies, position sizing, execution validation, and continuous position monitoring with predefined profit, loss, and expiry exits. When market data, AI analysis, liquidity, or risk conditions are insufficient, VOLTRON fails closed and chooses NO TRADE. The entire system is developed and validated using a fresh $100,000 Alpaca Paper Trading account with Level 3 options approval.
