Lain Brain is an Obsidian plugin for thinking out loud while staying in control of your words. Live speech is transcribed into Chat Space, where you can review, edit, and remove lines before asking Brain to respond. A spoken “ka” submits the current text, and Brain can read its answer aloud when enabled. You can define editing macros in ordinary language. Lain Brain generates a preview of the trigger, parameters, and action for you to review before saving. A voice command such as “delete lines two through three” can then edit Chat Space without becoming part of the text. Recoverable actions can be undone. When a command is ambiguous or cannot be confirmed, the original words remain available as text. You can also attach a local audio or video recording. AssemblyAI transcribes the audio track, and the transcription becomes context for your next question to Brain. This connects live voice capture, deliberate text editing, and analysis of recorded material in one Obsidian workspace. For video files, Lain Brain analyzes the audio track, not the visual frames.
