Actors and athletes have an agent who takes the first call about a job and asks about money first. Job seekers take those calls alone, often at work and unprepared, and nothing the recruiter says ends up in writing. Almost half of US job postings on Indeed don't show the pay, and Americans lost $501 million to job scams in 2024 (FTC). Talk to My Agent is an AI voice agent, built on the AssemblyAI Voice Agent API, that answers recruiters' calls for job seekers. It says it's an AI, matches the caller to the jobs the job seeker applied for, and asks the awkward questions: the pay range, remote or office days, the number of interviews, and when they'll hear back. It books a call only if the job meets the job seeker's minimum pay and deal-breakers, hangs up on job scams, and reads every detail back before emailing the recruiter a summary of what they confirmed. The job seeker gets the details on their phone and never has to pick up. The AI model does the talking; our code makes the decisions. It checks pay and dates, decides whether the job fits, scans everything the caller says for scam signs, and after each call checks that the agent made nothing up. Universal-3.5 Pro Realtime makes the summary possible by hearing salary figures, dates and spelled-out emails correctly. We tested it on 13 simulated calls over the real API, with another AI voice agent playing each caller: 10 passed every check, both scams were blocked, and all 8 summary emails were right. Job seekers would pay $10 a month while they search, and one user costs about $3.66 a month to run. Every voice agent in hiring works for the employer. This one works for the job seeker.
