VoiceOps Sentinel helps on-call engineers get a first-pass explanation of nginx 502 incidents by speaking a question instead of writing a query. In the hosted demo, AssemblyAI's Voice Agent API manages the spoken exchange and calls one allowlisted diagnostic tool. A Node.js backend builds a canonical incident report from server-owned synthetic log fixtures, then verifies its schema, exact evidence provenance, and read-only policy before the UI displays the result. The report quotes source records, distinguishes observations from a probable cause, gives a heuristic confidence score with explicit limits, and recommends only read-only follow-up checks. The demo exercises five scenarios: upstream connection refused, upstream timeout, a healthy checked window, no log records, and prompt-injection text inside a log line. An empty result does not become a guessed diagnosis, and log text cannot authorize service restarts or other changes. A hosted evaluation matrix includes three technically valid voice runs for each scenario; the captured reports passed schema, provenance, and policy checks. All records are synthetic. Production log integration and business-impact measurement are future work.
