ShipPilot AI helps developers move from a software issue to a structured and validated engineering workflow. The problem is that fixing a software issue usually requires several separate steps. Developers need to understand the repository, locate the relevant code, identify the root cause, implement a safe change, create regression tests, check for risks, and decide whether the change is ready for release. These steps can take significant time and may be inconsistent when handled manually. ShipPilot AI brings these activities together through four engineering agents: Code Agent, Test Agent, Risk Agent, and Release Agent. The user provides a GitHub repository and a developer issue. ShipPilot first analyzes the repository and the issue. The Code Agent focuses on understanding the implementation and proposing a minimal fix. The Test Agent creates regression tests for the reported problem. The Risk Agent evaluates possible risks and validation results. The Release Agent evaluates release readiness and produces a release checklist. For the demonstration, ShipPilot is tested with an AI Resume Analyzer repository containing an ATS scoring consistency issue. The system identifies the relevant scoring logic, generates a proposed patch, validates the patch in an isolated checkout, generates regression tests for duplicate skills, case variations, and the maximum score limit, and executes the generated tests. The final workflow provides a clear engineering result showing agent completion, patch validation, test results, and release-gate status. The release gate is intentionally conservative: passing automated tests does not automatically approve deployment, and human review remains required. The project is designed for developers and engineering teams who want an AI-assisted workflow for software maintenance, debugging, testing, and release preparation. ShipPilot AI is different from a simple code-generation assistant because it treats software maintenance as a multi-stage engineering workflow. It combines repository understanding, implementation, executable testing, risk assessment, and release readiness into one process. IBM Bob 2.0 was used during the development of ShipPilot AI to assist with development tasks, code changes, workflow refinement, and test validation.
