Sentinel Options is an autonomous AI-powered options trading agent built to make disciplined, data-driven trading decisions without requiring a human in the loop. The system continuously analyzes financial news for a selected technology-stock watchlist using Google News RSS. Google Gemini acts as the intelligence layer, analyzing recent headlines and producing structured signals containing bullish or bearish sentiment, confidence, and a suggested CALL or PUT trade. AI does not have access to trading execution. Instead, Sentinel follows the principle: “The AI proposes, but deterministic code decides.” Every proposed trade passes through a Python-based Risk Gate that enforces hard rules for portfolio concentration, maximum trade cost, daily loss protection, position limits, market status, sentiment confidence, option liquidity, bid-ask spread, and implied volatility. When a trade is approved, Sentinel queries Alpaca for available option contracts and selects an appropriate near-the-money contract within a 7–45 day expiration window. The approved order is then executed through the official Alpaca CLI using a subprocess-based command-line execution path and recorded with the real Alpaca order ID. After execution, Sentinel continuously monitors open positions and automatically applies predefined take-profit, stop-loss, and near-expiration rules. The complete autonomous pipeline is: Market News → Gemini Analysis → Option Selection → Deterministic Risk Gate → Alpaca CLI Execution → Portfolio Monitoring Sentinel Options demonstrates how generative AI, deterministic risk management, and broker infrastructure can be combined into a hands-free autonomous options trading system.
