SENTINEL-Risk-Aware AI Trading Agent

SENTINEL is an autonomous AI trading agent designed to solve the critical flaw of AI in finance: hallucinations and reckless automated order execution. Built directly on Alpaca's paper trading and market infrastructure, SENTINEL introduces an independent, deterministic mathematical risk engine that acts as an uncompromised Chief Risk Officer (CRO). While large language models (LLMs) excel at synthesizing market depth, technical momentum, and sentiment into structured trade proposals, they lack deterministic safety guarantees. SENTINEL solves this by separating reasoning from execution. Every AI trade proposal must clear six strict, non-bypassable mathematical rules: maximum 10% position concentration, 5% single-order commitment, 40% sector allocation, 10 daily trade limits, a mandatory 70% conviction floor, and an intraday 2% portfolio circuit breaker. If any rule is breached, the risk engine vetoes the order with sub-millisecond latency—guaranteeing zero capital exposure and zero broker calls. SENTINEL provides institutional transparency through a 6-stage Decision Waterfall (Observation, Analysis, Reasoning, Proposal, Risk Check, and Verdict) with microsecond latency profiling. The platform features an interactive Uniswap-inspired terminal, live Server-Sent Events (SSE) telemetry streaming, Alpaca Model Context Protocol (MCP) tool integration, an emergency kill switch, and automated verification across 108 tests. SENTINEL proves that autonomous financial AI can be powerful, explainable, and fundamentally risk-aware.
